Social media platforms have been a washed with the sensation of Dala7s as hashtags such as #Dala7s, #DalaLich, #WabiroDala etc

The Kisumu Dala Sevens was first hosted in May 2003 with defunct Kenya Army side, Ulinzi RFC winning that event. It ran in the subsequent years before being dropped from the NSC in 2007 due to financial constraints on the part of the host club, Kisumu RFC. It is worth appreciating the efforts the current management has made to have rugby to the level it is now.

Dala Sevens is about rugby returning home. The likes of current Kenya Sevens coach Benja Ayimba, Teddy Omondi, Dennis Mwanja, Brian Nyikuli, Collins Injera and Humphrey Kayange to name but a few nurtured their talent in educational institutions within this region.

Entry fee to this weekends' tournament is Kshs. 300. T-Shirts and Jerseys for the event will be available as from Thursday at Kshs 2000 and Kshs 4000 respectively.

The two day event ends on Sunday.
